OUR BOARD

Claire Chambolle is the Director of the Centre for Competition Economics. She is Research Director in economics at INRAE (Institut National de Recherche en Agronomie et Environnement) and affiliated researcher at CREST, Institut Polytechnique de Paris. She is also a affiliated professor at Ecole Polytechnique. Her research interests are Industrial Organization, and Competition Policy with a particular focus on vertically related markets and buyer power. She has been regularly involved in the public policy debate in her country regarding the relationships between producers and retailers in the food sector. Her research has been published in journals such as the Review of Economic Studies, European Economic Review, American Economic Journal: Microeconomics, and the Journal of Industrial Economics.

Since 2025, Claire is a member of the Economic Advisory Group for Competition Policy (EAGCP) of the European Commission. She is also a member of the Comité des règlements des différends commerciaux agricoles since 2022 and a member of the executive committee of EARIE

She holds a Phd from University Paris I-Panthéon Sorbonne. She was a visiting researcher at Agricultural and Resource Economics Department in Berkeley.
